Merrillville Intermediate School Celebrates 11th Annual Mother/Daughter Brunch

Merrillville-Intermediate-School-Celebrates-11th-Annual-Mother-Daughter-BrunchOn Saturday April 15th, the Merrillville Intermediate School P.E.A.R.L.S. (Pretty Elegant Articulate Respectful Young Ladies Society) celebrated their 11th Annual Mother/Daughter Tea Brunch which was held at the Avalon Manor in Hobart. There were about 200 mothers, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, and sisters in attendance. The brunch consisted of dancing & reading poems while families enjoyed sitting together, eating a delicious brunch. Each girl wore elegant white dresses with pink and white hats & received a pearl necklace, earrings, and bracelet along with a certificate of participation.

The 2nd year PEARLS ladies received a Minnie Mouse stuffed animal, a PEARLS bag and key chain, trophies, as well as, a Pearls shirt. MIS 5th grade student Ajah Scott stated " My favorite part was when we handed the pink roses out, because when I handed my mom hers, she smiled so big". Sponsors of this amazing event this year were Ericka Hightower, Nia Cassity and Morgan Vlassopoulos.
