Duneland School Corporation: A Parent Plan for Drug Prevention

Duneland-School-CorporationIt is our goal at Duneland School Corporation to partner with parents and our community to provide a quality education and a safe place for our students to live and learn. We strive to have ongoing and open communication with our Duneland community. It is in this line of thinking that we would like to share some serious information with you. There are concerns regarding the local supplies of illicit heroin. While heroin use is an immediate concern, any substance abuse affects quality of life. Parents are still the most powerful influence in their children’s lives. It is important to us that we remind our community that the following resources are available should you or anyone you know have concerns about dealing with any drug use or abuse issues.

The following video, entitled A Parent Plan for Drug Prevention, will assist parents in identifying the signs of drug use and offer suggestions on how to talk with your children about drug use and abuse.

Below is a list of some local resources and facilities that provide both immediate or emergency intervention, long-term treatment, and recovery needs. These resources may provide support for those dealing with drug use and abuse issues as well as their families and support systems.
