St. Mary’s Students Enthusiastic about Showing Appreciation to Teachers

St-Marys-Students-Enthusiastic-about-Showing-Appreciation-to-Teachers-Collage-2016On the beautiful sunny morning of Friday, September 23, 2016, over 500 students and parents at St. Mary Catholic Community School showed their appreciation for their teachers by participating in the school’s eighth annual walk-a-thon. The walk-a-thon was organized by St. Mary’s Parish Council and Finance Council representatives Suzanne Bukur and Lowell Killion. The route stretched as far East as Indiana Avenue, to Crown Point’s historic square; and as far South as Greenwood Avenue.

St. Mary’s has been educating students since 1872, and a strong faculty has always been, and continues to be, the foundation of the school’s success. Support from the parish, the school community, and the Crown Point community at large for this event was tremendous. This year’s pledges set a new record!
