St. Mary’s School Parochial Students Pedal to School

St-Mary-Catholic-Community-School-Bike-to-School-Day-2016On Friday, May 20th, students at St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point pedaled to school. Students were excited and many parents joined in on the school’s annual “Ride-your-bike-to-school Day.” Paul Carlson, superintendent at the Lake County Fairgrounds, was kind enough to open up a little early and the fairgrounds served as a rendezvous spot. Students who live too far from school had their bikes transported by their parents.

The students pedaled from The Lake County Fairgrounds to St. Mary’s were they were met at the school by many of their classmates who rode from other directions. Over 160 happy students rode their bikes to school along with dozens of parents. St. Mary’s student Jayden Mendez said, “We should do this every day!”
