Gary Community School Corporation Thanks Everyone for Supporting 2016 Bead Town

Gary-Community-School-CorporationThank you for supporting this important program, and the students of the Gary Community School Corporation (GCSC).

GCSC's Bead Town "Home" Exhibit Gala was a huge success. Thank you to the over 150 individuals who attended and have supported the Bead Town project. More than 90 students participated in the creations at this exhibit as well as staff and community members. It took in excess of 2 million beads to create these master pieces derived from the over 10,000 tons of Mardi Gras beaded necklaces that are dumped into landfills each year. In addition, Social Media Development Group (SMDG,LLC) pledged $10,000 to the students' artwork to give back to GCSC and keep the student's homes local. This made the event a huge success not just monetarily but also no student's artwork was left out. All of their hard work and time paid off!

Didn't attend? There is still time to view the "Home" Exhibit Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through May 29 at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts. Visit GCSCBeadTown.org for more details.

If you didn't attend the "Home" Exhibit you also missed your GCSC Keepsake Registration Calendar. Pick up your 11x17 Glossy calendar at your participating Gary Community School or download it here.
