Duneland School Corporation hosted their annual Opening Day event for teachers and support staff at Chesterton High School Auditorium this past Monday.
Teachers and support staff serving the Corporation for 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years were honored at the event.
Those receiving 20 year awards were: Teachers Dave Bullock-CMS, Robert DeRuntz-CHS, Candi Kautz-WIS, John Sparks-CHS, Joyce Goodwin-LES; and staff members Shelley Beare-Transp., Roberta Hill-Bus Driver, Sharon Klahn-Technology; Denise Mohamed-WIS Food Services, Doris Morse-JA Technology, Doug Strehler-Transp. mechanic, Mark Steuber-CMS custodian, Susan Sutton-WIS Food Svcs and Deb Tarkane-JA Food Svcs.
For 25 years: Teachers Linda Eleftheri-JA, Theresa Keilman-CMS, Cheryl Marrs-BA, and Mike Trout-School Board member.
For 30 years: Teacher Tom Schnabel, Duneland Music director; and staff members Rose Lipniskis-Admin. Office receptionist and Mark Singer-Maintenance supervisor
For 40 years: Teacher Michele Bartels-CHS
For 45 years: Teachers Jack Campbell-BA, Carolyn Harden-BR and Patricia Sella-JA
