Challenger Learning Center Plans June Second Saturday Event

Challenger-Learning-CenterThe Challenger Learning Center of Northwest Indiana will host its monthly Second Saturday Family Science Program on Saturday, June 14, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The event will cost $15 per person and will include a mini mission, a planetarium show and a laser light show.

During the mini mission, participants will work as a pair in the space station simulator and help rescue the Curiosity Rover on Mars.

The planetarium show, “Extreme Planets,” will take the audience on an exciting tour of several strange and exotic worlds. Attendees will also be shown easy-to-use stargazing tips to find points of interest in the skies over southern Lake Michigan during “South Shore Skies.”

The laser light show, “Laser Pop,” will feature laser light art set to the beat of fun pop music with hits from the Beach Boys, The B52’s and ‘N Sync.

Those not wishing to participate in the mini mission may purchase tickets to either the laser light show or planetarium show at $5 for adults or $3 for children. A special package including both shows is $8 for adults and $5 for children.

Individual planetarium shows begin at 3:00 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Individual laser shows begin at 4:00 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
