The Indiana Assisted Living Association (INALA) recently awarded Treasa Chambers, LPN of Residences at Deer Creek Schererville, IN as 2017 Caregiver of the Year. Each year, INALA accepts nominations from assisted living communities who choose to honor hard-working employees that enrich the daily lives of their residents. Nominees are selected based on criteria set by INALA.
Caregiver of the Year is awarded to employees who nurture the spirit of each resident, treat each resident with dignity and respect, promote the individuality of each resident, provide a safe environment, allow each resident choice of care and lifestyle, and make the assisted living residence a valuable community asset.
Treasa Chambers brings more than 23 years of nursing experience in a variety of settings to her residents and colleagues. Her passion is providing care to seniors and memory care residents. Her excellent work ethic and understanding of senior living helps reinforce high quality standards and ensures they are carried our 24/7. As a dedicated nurse and midnight supervisor, she assists in developing training programs to help other staff, participates as an instructor in the Skills Bootcamp Training, and picks up extra shifts whenever needed.
