The Nominating Committee is now receiving nominations from any and all Portage Chamber members for seven Board of Directors openings effective January 1, 2017. Please consider nominating one or more qualified individuals who meet these requirements (including yourself):
Eligibility:
- Any person, partnership, firm, business, association or corporation must be a member in good standing for a period of one year.
- Must indicate general interest in the Chamber as evidenced by committee activity and/or attendance at Chamber events and/or financial support of Chamber projects, or demonstrated significant service to the community.
- Demonstrated history of involvement in Chamber activities.
Agree to:
- Serve a three-year term on Chamber Board of Directors
- Actively participate on Chamber Board of Directors
- Attend at least eight of twelve Board meetings, which are held at 7:30 am the first Friday each month preceded by at least four non-holiday days of the month. Meetings may be for one and one-half hours
- Actively participate on at least one standing committee: Ambassador, Awards, Banquet, Budget/Finance, Building, Business Directory, Education, Golf, Governance, Portage Community & Business Night, Personnel, Public Policy, Marketing/Communication. Committees meet periodically or monthly.
- Support and periodically attend various Chamber functions to become acquainted with Chamber activities
