Franciscan Alliance Broadway Health Center a ‘Star Performer’

Franciscan-Alliance-Broadway-Health-Center-a-Star-PerformerThe Franciscan Physician Network-Broadway Health Center’s Pediatrics Department recently received a Star Performer Award for achieving clinical performance measures, best-practice implementation, patient outreach efforts and demonstrating a passion for quality, from MDwise, an Indiana-based nonprofit health care insurance firm, which is nationally accredited to measure service standards for its underinsured and underserved, clients. Lisa Poe, left, clinic supervisor, accepts on the center’s behalf a plaque and a $1,000 check from Laura Trainor, MDwise network improvement manager, during a celebration at the 9470 Broadway, Crown Point, location.

Trainor saluted the center’s staff, adding, “They always go the extra mile. All of our members are in need of preventive care and the staff is willing to make sure they get everything they need, when they need it. They always step up and we want them to know they really stand out. Whatever we ask of them, they are willing to do.” Poe saluted the clinic’s staff, especially its physicians, Hemendra Parikh, MD, and Christina Ha, MD; along with nurse practitioner Jorie Moberley. “It all starts with them, they are the reason patients come back. Pediatrics is not an easy field, it involves working with the needs and schedules of parents and guardians, and with the children. It’s all about offering the relationship that works to get them to want to come here.” The award has been presented for three years, Trainor said.
