Really Excellent People: Shelley Seely

REP-shelley-seelyNorthwest Indiana is a growing area of the country that welcomes many families that make their way to us. And with the families come the homes in which they must reside. So who comes in to play when it’s time to buy or sell a home? There are multiple businesses in the area, but one stands out in particular. Realty Executives Premier, located in downtown Valparaiso, gives home buyers and sellers the people, experience and knowledge to get the job done right on the first try.

Our 5th agent in the REP (Really Excellent People) series is Shelley Seely. You’ve already read about Jason Utesch, Jon Wolf, Karl Wehle, and Francess Burkett. Now it's Seely's turn.

Seely is a full-time Executive Agent, Associate Broker/Realtor at Realty Executives Premier. Her job duties include simply: moving real estate.

“I am the best and hardest working full time enthusiastic Realtor you will ever meet,” Seely said.

Before coming to Realty Executives, Seely was already immersed in the real estate industry. She was looking for a change and a challenge, and she found both at Realty Executives Premier. Seely said that what sets her company apart from other real estate businesses is their dedication to their clients.

“We will do anything within our power to get the properties to closing,” Seely affirmed. “I am relentless in this aspect and have never had a transaction fall apart at closing. We brainstorm with each other to find the best avenue to help. We are extremely customer service orientated and family orientated. All of us have families and bring that kind of dedication to our clients.”

Seely does most of her work in La Porte, Porter and Lake Counties. She likes to be close to her clients because that makes it easier to be involved with the transaction process. She has mass amount of knowledge on credit reporting with Equifax, mortgage loan origination, customer service and sales, secondary financing, and property purchasing; and she want to be able to give her clients the best of all of her skills all the time.

“My favorite thing about my job is the personal interaction,” Seely said. “I love all of the personalities I run into and all of the lifelong relationships we build together. I love most of all the look on a buyer or sellers face at closing that says, 'We did it!'”

Outside of Realty Executives Premier, Seely is married with two children. She kick boxes in her spare time and likes to play volleyball. Her family and friends are her top priority and they keep her motivated. Seely feels that is important to give back to her community as she is the the assistant treasurer of the Alpha Rho Chapter of Delta Theta Tau in Chesterton which raises money for various organizations such as Opportunity Enterprises, The Caring Place, the Boys and Girls Club of Porter County, Meals on Wheels, volunteer fire departments, and high school scholarships.

The real estate business can be a challenge. Seely wants everyone to know that her job is not a cake walk like it is assumed by the media and society.

“We do not just show a home and the transaction is done,” Seely said. “We follow up from the initial transaction, loan application and contract until it closes. There are many people involved in the transaction from the loan originators, loan processors, inspectors, appraisers and most importantly the companies insuring the title, that make this all come together. Without them we are nothing.”

For anyone looking to get the most from a home buying/selling transaction is this:

“The one piece of advice I would like to share with home buyers/sellers on how they can make their time most beneficial is to go with an agent you can relate to and trust. Listen to what they have to say, they are the experts,” Seely said in closing.
