In honor of his years of service, influence in the concrete industry, and dedication to the Indiana Ready Mix Concrete Association (IRMCA), Don Rapley, former president of Ozinga’s ready mix concrete operation in Indiana, was inducted in the IRMCA Hall of Fame.
Rapley, who currently serves as vice president of Ozinga’s materials and logistics operation in Indiana, has been a member of the IRMCA since 1990. He went through the chairs to further his IRMCA achievements, becoming a member of the board in 2008, serving as secretary/treasurer in 2009, vice president in 2010, and president in both 2011 and 2016.
Throughout Rapley’s career, which includes 27 years at Ozinga and a tenure at Levy Slag Co., he has been instrumental in building his team and encouraging more participation throughout sales, quality control, and safety. During his term with the IRMCA, Rapley ensured the committees met and oversaw basic functions of the board and association, and his leadership also helped maintain the IRMCA through the Great Recession and contributed to a seamless transition from the previous executive director.
The IRMCA Hall of Fame award is given annually to individuals who have given time and effort to advance the interests of the IRMCA as well as the concrete industry. This year’s event was held at the IRMCA Short Course Event in Indianapolis.
