The Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of their new office building Thursday evening in an event that drew quite the crowd. The office is located at 440 W 84th Dr. in Merrillville and is the chamber’s first stand-alone building.

President and CEO of the Crossroads Chamber, Sue Reed said the building is a cutting edge and is state of the art facility.

“This building has been in the plans for about 3 years,” said Reed. “We knew we didn’t want to rent, we wanted the right spot and the right amenities. We wanted to make sure when we move, that we were going to do it correctly.”

The new building has a Community Room for members to hold meetings free of charge. Reed said it’s a great resource for chamber members.

“A lot of small business owners don’t have a meeting space,” said Reed. “They have to pay fees and for small business owners that can really affect their budgets. This is just another benefit and resource for their membership. I want the community to know that we are a good resource for our members.”

President of Bryco Services and Chairman of The Board for Crossroads Chamber, Bryan Lazorik said the new office building will serve the community more effectively.

“This really celebrates our members. We have a new space for them to use as well as to conduct our chamber business,” said Lazorik. “We want the community to know we have a great new space to showcase and a community room for members to use. If you’re a small start-up or a small office and need a little more space, that’s going to be a great value to a lot of our members.”

Director of Marketing and Business Development for Chester Inc. and board member Rich Shields said they are excited to show the new building to the public.

“It’s been a long road to get it from inception to fruition,” said Shields. “There’s a lot more space and room to utilize. I think that’s the key element, if they need a meeting space, Crossroad members can utilize it.”

The mission of the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce states they want to serve The Region by promoting and advocating for business growth. This new facility says just that-community growth and business expansion.
