Businesses, Consumers Came to “Swing for Success” at 2017 Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce “Best of Northwest” Business Expo

The Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce's "Best of Northwest" Business Expo was a huge success once again this year. The theme was “Swing for Success” and businesses were able to show their team pride while they mingled and met at the Patrician Banquet Center.

The Expo is a great way for businesses to reach out to the community while also getting to know each other. The Swing for Success event featured food trucks, a wine sampling, a $1000+ raffle, and was open to the public from 3:00pm - 6:00pm.

“It’s an opportunity for our members to showcase their services," explained President and CEO of the Crossroads Chamber Sue Reed. "We want to give them a way to connect to consumers and show their services to people who wouldn’t have known about them otherwise.”

The business community was not alone in the expo, as nonprofits also showcased their products and services and connect with attendees with Jacob’s Ladder explained the importance of events like the Expo for her.

“We’re wanting to spread our mission and educate the community about the needs of the children we serve,” said Candace Arvin, Director of Marketing and Business Development for Jacob's Ladder Pediatric Rehab Center. “We want to show them what’s available to them. We’re also looking for individuals and businesses whose philanthropic values align with ours so we can serve more children in need, and we’re also looking for volunteers. Volunteers are the heart blood of our organization.”

For businesses, Crossroads Chamber events like these help get the word out about new products and upgraded services, and of course put a face to the names of their companies.

Casey Huber, Marketing and Sales Department at NITCO, was looking forward to meeting people on behalf of NITCO. “We’ve been to this event quite a few times, and we’re always trying to expand. We’re here to network and see what kind of opportunities the expo brings us.”

“We’re pushing the IT division today,” Rich Shields, Director of Marketing and Business Development for Chester Inc said. “We’ve been a member of the Crossroads Chamber for 22 years because we’re always looking to grow in Northwest Indiana.”

For the first time, this year's Best of Northwest also featured a small food truck festival outside of the Patrician Banquet Center. Consumers and business owners alike enjoyed ice cream, tacos, icees, and much more.
