Crossroads Chamber of Commerce Honors Best Members At Holiday Luncheon

All year the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce works hard to promote business growth in the community. One day out of those studious many, they take a break to install new board members and give awards to exceptional local businesses. This Annual Installation and Awards luncheon was held at the Lighthouse Restaurant in Cedar Lake.

Like the Lighthouse, the Crossroads Chamber enhances our neighborhood and offers a beacon of guidance.

“It’s a great resource,” said Louise Thompson, a Resource Development Coordinator representing Ivy Tech, “For businesses, for tourism. The people you deal with, with the Chamber, are much more community minded than others.”

Many of the Chamber members have been a part of the organization for years, united by common goals. The goal of welcoming members onto the board is an important one.

President and CEO Sue Reed said, “It’s important to our members to know who is making decisions for the businesses in the community.”

That is why it is a group event instead of a private one. The members gathered for a nice lunch, good drinks, and a great time. Bryan Lazorik, David Novak, and Diana Kania stood with their president to hand out awards. Kevin DeBraal, a guest presenting sponsor from the Franciscan Alliance, announced the new board members.

Bryan Lazorik was one of those announced. After two years of waiting, December 11th he was introduced as the new Chairman of the Board.

“It’s exciting because it’s such a vibrant organization. I’m looking forward to working with leadership to help steer [the Chamber] in the right direction.”

He was not the only one excited about the 2016 year. Each new member and officer were greeted with a thunderous roar of applause.
