Crossroads Chamber of Commerce Opens New Location

The Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting at their new location on Taft Street in Merrillville.

The new location gives the Chamber better visibility in the community and it makes the Chamber more accessible for Chamber members as well as community members who wish to come in and learn about its services. The new facility was large and spacious, double the size of the Chamber's previous headquarters and guests milled about, looking through the rooms and offices in the building.

"This is a great way to welcome members to our office and celebrate the future of our chamber," Tristen Comegys Membership Director for the Crossroads Chamber said. "We got a new office because we more than tripled in size. This facility will allow us to host seminars and networking events and we won't have to rely on outside venues for that any longer."

Hors d'oeuvres and beverages from Lucrezia Ristorante, Asparagus Restaurant, Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant, Chick-fil-A, Radisson Star Plaza, Fahrenheit Two-Twelve, and TJ Maloney's Irish Pub were served to the eager guests.

Soon after, everyone braved the chilly weather to take part in the ribbon cutting, which represented a large step in the right direction for the Chamber and ultimately the communities and businesses that it represents. Sue Reed, Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce's President & CEO, spoke to the crowd before the ribbon was cut.

"I want to thank everyone that is here tonight and everyone that made this possible. We wouldn't be here without you so thank you for your support," Reed said.

And after the clicking of multiple cameras captured the memory of the night and hard word that got everyone there, the large red ribbon was cut, and then met with cheers and applause. Networking continued back inside the Chamber's new office and a great time was had by all.
