Goody Bag Donations Being Accepted for BoozFest 2014! August 15th, 11am
The Hobart Chamber of Commerce will be handing out goody bags to all who attend the BoozFest. If you would like to add something to the goody bags (coupons, promotional items, etc.,) please donate 600 items for the bags. You can bring your items to the Chamber or call for pick up.
Dr. Niaz Latif to be Guest Speaker at September Luncheon Dr. Niaz Latif is Professor and Head of the Department of Industrial Technology at Purdue University. Prior to joining Purdue, he was a faculty member and coordinator of Engineering Technology programs at Northern Kentucky University (NKU). At NKU he also served as Director of the Technical Services Institute under the Department of Technology. Dr. Latif has authored/co-authored numerous refereed journal articles and peer reviewed conference proceedings articles and has made national and international conference presentations. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of lean manufacturing, alternative energy, human factors, and computer-aided engineering design. He has developed and taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses and has supervised graduate student projects, in these areas, both at master's and doctoral level. His current research focuses on applied ergonomics in manufacturing, and he supervises graduate student research in the area.
Dr. Latif earned his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an M.S. from South Dakota State University; both degrees are in Agricultural Engineering. He holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Chittagong in Bangladesh. He received the 1998 Outstanding Professor of Industrial Technology Award (Region 3) from the National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT). Dr. Latif served as the Chair of the Executive Board of NAIT. He is a fellow of the Academic Leadership Program under the Committee on Institutional Cooperation of Big 10 Universities.
The luncheon will take place on Wednesday, September 10th, at 11:30am at the Hobart Elks, 3580 West 61st Avenue. The luncheon is $15 per person. Please RSVP to the Hobart Chamber.

Seeking Vendors for Hobart Tri Kappa's Annual Style Show 'A Day of Fashion'
Hobart Tri Kappa is currently seeking vendors for it's Annual Style Show and Bazaar, to be held at the Avalon Manor in Hobart on Sunday November 9th, 2014. This event is Hobart Tri Kappa's annual fund raiser and includes a style show, dinner, bountiful basket raffles, and unique vendors. All proceeds benefit local charities, scholarship recipients, City Wide Giving Tree, and local projects that benefit our communities.
