Marty Wielgos, district manager for the Hammond Sanitary District, was recently appointed to the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority’s board of directors. Wielgos replaces previous Hammond appointment, Chris Jones, whose term expired at the end of June.
According to Speros A. Batistatos, president and CEO of the South Shore CVA, Wielgos has previously served on the South Shore CVA’s board of directors.
“We are very excited that Marty Wielgos is returning to the South Shore CVA’s board of directors,” said Batistatos. “Our organization will greatly benefit from his extensive knowledge in both the private and public sectors.”
The South Shore CVA’s board of directors consists of 19 members, with appointments from local municipals, the Lake County Commissioners, Lake County Council and the Lt. Governor.
