Roberta Mead and Barb Blake, both having over 35 years of traditional food preservation history, will teach you how to make and preserve your very own blueberry pie filling using real, fresh-picked blueberries. Although this is not an introductory class, you will be given a brief overview of the techniques and equipment required to can. Each participant will also go home with one preserved item. Class size is a maximum of 10 people and class fee is $20. Pre-registration is required by July 24.

The Art Center is looking for volunteers for the 56th Annual Chesterton Art Fair taking place on August 2-3 from 10-5. We need people to assist with a variety of tasks including helping with the children's tent, the publicity tent, selling pop, the front gate, and checking on the artists. Register now for the 2014 Duneland Y annual golf outing being held at The Brassie Golf Club. Golfers will be treated to lunch served by The Brassie on the grill, Rolling Stonebaker Pizza at the conclusion of the game and refreshments throughout the day. Cost for the day is $100 per golfer and hole sponsorship is only $100 as well. All proceeds for the golf outing benefit the Y Scholarship Fund that helps provide families with before and after school child care, pre-school, memberships, sports programs and summer day camp.

NeighborLink Porter County is a nonprofit organization that invites Porter County residents to seek free assistance from their neighbors, and invites Porter County residents to join volunteer project teams to provide free assistance to those who are marginalized in the community.
