Purdue University North Central FAFSA Help Weekend
Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23
Purdue University North Central will have an FAFSA Help Weekend to help students and parents complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) paperwork on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23 in Technology Building Room 265. During the FAFSA Help Weekend at PNC, PNC financial aid staff will be on hand to help students and their families file the form online. On Saturday, February 22, assistance will be available from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. On Sunday, February 23, assistance will be available from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. PNC will participate in the statewide College Goal Sunday activities. PNC will be one of 40 College Goal Sunday sites in Indiana offering students and their parents the help they need in understanding, completing and filing the FAFSA.
Chesterton Art Center Reception this Sunday!

On Sunday, February 23 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, the Chesterton Art Center will host the Closing Reception for the Look What's Up artists as well as the Opening Reception for the Rug Hookers exhibit. Atrial fibrillation, commonly called AFib, is a very common heart rhythm disorder that affects about 2.6 million people annually. The presence of atrial fibrillation increases your individual risk of stroke five-fold. The Water Bird Lakeside Spa & Banquet Center, along with Pat's Liquors and the Chesterton High School parent Band Boosters Association, will host a beer and wine tasting fundraiser. This event, known as "Spirits at the Water Bird" will take place at the Water Bird Lakeside Spa & Banquet Center. In addition to the sampling of various wine and beer labels, hors d'oeuvres will be available. There will be door prizes and drawings for select gift baskets. Tickets for the event are $35 per person, or $60 per couple if purchased before Monday, March 3. After that date, the ticket pricing will be $40 per person, and $70 per couple. Patrons of this event must be 21 years of age. Tickets are available at the Water Bird Lakeside Spa & Banquet Center and at Pat's Liquors. The proceeds from this event will be donated to the CHS Band Booster Association in support of the CHS Band program.
Duneland YMCAFather-Daughter Dance

On March 8, the Duneland Family YMCA Gym will be transformed for the Y's first father-daughter community dance "HOLLYWOOD: A Night To Remember, Be the Star YOU Already Are." The Y's very own paparazzi will be on hand to snap keepsake photos. Attendees will enjoy snacks, desserts, refreshments, play games and, of course, dance! This evening is for fathers (uncles, grandfathers, and guardians) and daughters ages 12 and under. The cost is $20 per couple and $7 for each additional girl.
